Well, there has been some debate regarding the barber's refusal to cut my hair. I am hearing everything from why don't you bring a civil rights lawsuit to there really is a big difference in cutting thin hair and thicker hair. My office mate suggested a place that I could get my hair cut, in the Stroh River Place. He used to get his hair cut there all the time. So I went there after work, and was amazed at what a cool place it is. Why don't I rent an apartment there? I might. Anyway, I went in and got my haircut in a place that has nice leather chairs to wait in and classical music playing. It cost me $15 + tip for my buzz cut. I told the barber of my previous day's story at the barber on Gratiot, and he said that although it might possibly be racism, more than likely the barber was being honest that he couldn't do a job if he really doens't cut a lot of white people's hair. OK, I heard it from the expert, and I'll give the barber on Gratiot the benefit of the doubt. I suppose the way to really know for sure though is to return next month and ask for a "marine cut"? Do I really want to know that bad?
